Maurits Foorthuis is Programme Officer at The Hague Academy for Local Governance, where he facilitates trainings to civic servants in development countries. Maurits has a background in international relations, conflict studies and Russian an Eurasian Studies. In February 2022, he made national news when he assured the safety of his girlfriend and family-in-law from Ukraine. He still collects money and materials for Ukrainians in peril.
During this evening, Maurits will talk about his work as Programme Officer in African and the former Soviet Union. Guests and audience have the opportunity to ask him questions about the success and difficulties of local governance in developing countries. The entire programme is in English, and you do not need to be a member of GroenLinks to join. We hope to see you there!
