GroenLinks is the Dutch green party: our name translates GreenLeft. Do you want to live in a city where everyone feels welcome, where we fight the climate crisis, tackle inequality, and where there is affordable housing for everyone? What we stand for
GroenLinks has ambitious plans for The Hague within four main themes. We want to provide affordable housing for all, tackle the climate crisis in a fair way, create green and livable neighborhoods, and have equal opportunities for everybody in The Hague. Together we can make this happen.
Affordable housing for everyone
We will build more social housing and homes for people who are starting out in the housing market. We will combat slumlords and vacancy. We believe that the policies and actions of the municipality should be aimed at housing people. Because housing is a fundamental right and not a revenue model.
Tackling the climate crisis in a fair way
We will invest in insulation and solar panels and help residents who cannot pay their energy bills. Also, landlords should only rent houses if they make them more sustainable. We will regulate this in a renting license.
Green and livable neighborhoods
Under our leadership, we will invest heavily in trees, bicycle paths and clean air. The Hague will collect waste more often and in more places. We will ensure that everyone lives in a nice green street, with a park around the corner. That is why cyclists and pedestrians are given free rein. We will do this by extending the 30 km/h zones to all residential areas.
Equal opportunities for everyone
Your chance to get good education and work should not depend on your postal code or who you are. We will continue to fight against discrimination and racism. We will offer help to people in poverty or debt and treat people without work humanely.
